PIERCING AFTERCARE

Do not use alcohol or peroxide on your new piercing. These products will kill the new cells that are

forming to heal your new piercing. Also do not use neosporin, vaseline, or any other creams/

ointments. Ointments and creams prevent oxygen from getting to your new piercing, which it

needs to heal. Always THOROUGHLY wash your hands before handling any new piercing until

it has healed. You may wash, bathe and swim with your new piercing, however, chlorine is not recommended. Be sure to avoid sand and lotions in direction contact with your piercing during

the healing process.

Facial & Body Piercings

Piercings located in the naval, eyebrow, septum, ears, nipples, or any other cartilage piercing

should be cleaned with antibacterial soap and warm water 3-4 times daily. Be sure to remove any

buildup of crust or discharge from the area. After cleaning, you should apply bactine or H2Ocean very sparingly and rotate your jewelry. This should be followed through during the entire healing time, even if the piercing seems to be healed already. Always keep make-up, hair products, lotions, etc., away from your piercing.

Oral piercings

Every time you eat, drink, smoke, kiss, or put anything in your mouth other than water, you must rinse with antiseptic mouthwash such as Listerine. Also rinsing with warm salt water will help your piercing heal more quickly. Jewelry in oral piercings tend to rotate as you talk so addition rotating isn't required. Jewelry in oral piercings are more likely to come loose so make sure your jewelry is tight and secure. If tongue becomes sore, rotate between mouth wash and salt water.
